Mar 22, 2010 · Goldfrapp Head First (intro) Released today (22 March), Goldfrapp's new album Head First is a glorious - if unexpected - foray into pure ‘80s pop. Goldfrapp have ditched the acoustic guitars from their folktronic 2008 album Seventh Tree and replaced them with massive synthesizers, effortlessly catchy hooks and staccato Giorgio Moroder basslines.
Mar 22, 2010 · Goldfrapp stepped off the dancefloor with The Seventh Tree’s folky reveries, but the duo couldn’t stay away for long. Head First dives into luscious, eminently danceable synth pop that's almost as far removed from the sleek shuffle beats of Black Cherry and Supernature as their previous album was.

Released 2000 Label Mute Chart position UK: No.57 US – For an album so deeply entrenched in the past, Goldfrapp’s debut still sounds fresh and innovative more than two decades after its release. Released 2003 Label Mute Chart position UK No.19 US – After a year on the road in support of Felt Mountain, Will and Alison found themselves frustrated with their “static” live show, not only because they had just nine songs of their own, but because of the emotional toll it took to perform those intense torch songs, night after night. It was parti...

However, anyone expecting a velvet goldmine ...

Released 2017 Label Mute Chart positions UK No.6 US No.118 Tradition dictates that a sombre, atmospheric Goldfrapp album is followed by a return to the dancefloor. It also dictates that Goldfrapp are unpredictable, and although Silver Eye is much more upbeat than Tales Of Us, it takes the essence of the group and presents it through a different pri...
Head First is the fifth studio album by English electronic music duo Goldfrapp, released 19 March 2010 by Mute Records. The album debuted at number six on the UK Albums Chart, selling 23,261 copies in its first week. It was supported by three singles: "Rocket", "Alive" and "Believer".
It must be especially galling when that comeback single is a pop song extraordinaire - packed with hooks, instantly appealing and addictively replayable. But that's precisely what happened earlier this month to Goldfrapp's Rocket, the first single off their fifth album Head First.
