Friends Reunion Special - May 27 Before HBO Max even launched, the service was advertising the development of a Friends reunion special tentatively named "The One Where They Got Back Together ."

- Judas and the Black Messiah (Feb. 12) Ryan Coogler‘s dramatic thriller biopic followup to Black Panther stars Daniel Kaluuya and Lakeith Stanfield. It centers on the true story of Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton and FBI informant William O’Neal.
- Tom & Jerry (March 5) The beloved Hanna Barbera slapstick cartoon gets the live-action/animation hybrid treatment à la Who Framed Roger Rabbit? , directed by Barbershop and Ride Along helmer Tim Story and starring Chloë Grace Moretz and Michael Peña.
- Godzilla vs. Kong (March 26) The titans of Warner/Legendary’s Monsterverse cross paths in You’re Next director Adam Wingard's action-adventure, starring Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown and Kyle Chandler.

- The Suicide Squad. HBO Max release date (US): 6 August 2021. Watch the trailer on YouTube. Guardians of the Galaxy's director, James Gunn, took his talents to the DC Extended Universe for this Suicide Squad sequel, which will see Margot Robbie return as Harley Quinn.
- The Matrix 4. HBO Max release date (US): 22 December 2021. Keanu Reeves will return as Neo in the fourth entry of The Matrix. Lana Wachowski, who directed the first film in the series, will also return.
- Dune. HBO Max release date (US): 21 October 2021. Watch the trailer on YouTube. Originally scheduled to be released in 2020, the hotly anticipated adaptation of the sci-fi epic, originally written by Frank Herbert, will also debut on HBO Max.
- Godzilla vs Kong. HBO Max release date (US): 21 May 2021. The fourth film in Legendary Pictures MonsterVerse will see the two big guys, Godzilla and King Kong, square off as helpless humans can only watch.
