Hap and Leonard is an American drama television series based on the characters Hap and Leonard, created by novelist Joe R. Lansdale [1] and adapted from his series of novels of the same name. [2]
Hap Collins is a white working class laborer who spent time in federal prison as a young man for refusing to be drafted into the military and serve in the Vietnam War. In his late forties, he is often haunted by the various unpleasant jobs he's held over the years such as working at an aluminum chair factory and working the East Texas rose fields.
Enticed by Trudy, Hap and Leonard begin their search for the lost loot with new compatriots Howard, Chub and Paco. Leonard receives distressing news about his Uncle Chester.
Joining the adventure is Hap's unlikely buddy Leonard Pine, an openly gay black Vietnam War vet with a bad temper and little use for Trudy's feminine wiles.
