As early as 1915, artist Hans Hofmann opened his own school of fine arts, the Schule fur Bildenes Kunst, in Munich, Germany. This school opened when Hofmann was 35 years old, this was his first attempt at teaching art.
Scholl was arrested in 1937–38 because of his membership in a forbidden Youth Movement organisation. Hans Scholl had joined the Deutsche Jungenschaft vom 1.11.1929 (d.j.1.11) in 1934, when he and other Hitler Youth members in Ulm considered membership in this group and the Hitler Youth to be compatible. Hans Scholl. 1937–1939. Born in Ingersheim on September 22, 1918, Hans Scholl was nearly fourteen when he moved to Ulm in 1932 and nearly fifteen when Hitler came to power. He joined the Hitler Youth in the fall of 1933 and rose to command a squad.
