Aug 5, 2019 · The film opens with a crowded family reunion Thanksgiving party hosted by Hannah and Elliot (filmed in Farrow’s actual New York apartment) and covers what happens to the family over a two-year period, as it’s framed around a closing Thanksgiving celebration.
What Hannah doesn’t know is that her second husband Elliot (Caine), as a kind of secondary but familiar lovestruck Woody-esque protagonist, is pursuing a woman who represents forbidden fruit: his story involves an affair, unrequited at first, with Hannah’s middle sister Leigh.
Brilliant but mature comic-drama about an imperfect family. Read Common Sense Media's Hannah and Her Sisters review, age rating, and parents guide.
