  8. May 9, 2014 · The Hampshire Chronicle is a weekly tabloid newspaper sold across the whole county of Hampshire and parts of neighbouring counties. It was founded in 1772 by James Linden in Southampton (it moved to Winchester in 1778) and is one of the oldest newspapers in the South of England. It’s published by Newsquest Hampshire, who took it over in 2000.
