Ackerson runs an unauthorized simulation of Parangosky's spike, learning it really compresses a fusion drive to the point of a nova-like reaction that can burn whole planets and systems to cinders from a million miles. Shocked that the CINCONI hid this from him, he exits, only to cross John and Kai's paths.
