David Guest is our Creative Director. A Cambridge University graduate with particular expertise in vocal and choral music, David originally trained as a singer, and performed with internationally-renowned ensembles including Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Les Arts Florissants and The Academy of Ancient Music, before founding Guest Artists.
David has coordinated all the arrangements for the performance of the Requiem. More than that, he has been a continuing source of encouragement during the composition of the work.
David has performed all the major works of Messiaen, and has improvised on live radio and in concert. He has also appeared as stunt-organist on BBC TV's Dr Who, and as a guest on Radio 3's The Choir with Aled Jones for a programme on organist composers.
Many of David’s compositions for the trio have been recorded by other bands and saxophonist Andy Sheppard, guitarist John Etheridge and singer Jacqui Dankworth have guested with the trio. Straddling different musical worlds has been one of the themes of David’s career.
