Jan 10, 2023 · At the start of the 2019-20 season, Detroit Lakes girls head coach Scott Piepkorn recruited roughly 15 girls to come out for hockey and fill roster spots on the junior varsity team. Most hadn’t owned a pair of skates, a stick or the faintest clue of how to play the game.
