London close: Stocks turn negative as Americans head to the polls
London stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with caution dominating markets as US voters headed to the presidential polls. The FTSE 100 index slipped 0.14% to end at 8,172.39 points, while the FTSE 250 shed 0.45%, closing at 20,370.04 points.
