Feb 12, 2020 · Grim Prairie Tales was a labour of love for Coe: a Hollywood storyboard artist who designed the original poster for Back to the Future, among other things. This was the first film he ever wrote or directed, and to date remains the only one.
Deeds then counters with his story about a homesteader family recently moved to a new community whose patriarch (William Atherton in one of his non-asshole roles) is forced to participate in a lynch mob to keep out certain undesired residents.
An anthology film composed of four separate stories, it is told by two travellers around a prairie campfire. Morrison (Jones) is a grizzled bounty hunter carrying a body, while Farley Deeds (Dourif) is a clerk on the way to a romantic reunion with his wife.
