Greta van der Linde is a minor, deceased character mentioned in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Greta van der Linde was born in 1835, to parents that worked on a field in Lincolnshire, England.
Around 1855, she relocated to Philadelphia and became pregnant from an unnamed man of Dutch descent. In that year, she gave birth to their only surviving son, Dutch van der Linde. Her husband died while fighting for the Union in the American Civil War. Dutch ran away from home at the age of fifteen, due to the two not seeing "eye to eye", as he was a disobedient child. Even though the two never saw each other again, Dutch claimed to have loved her, in his own way, while she loved him.
•In Redemption 2, the player can visit Greta van der Linde's grave in Blackwater, at the cemetery of The Blackwater Church of Holy Ascension. Her grave is located on the northwest side of the graveyard.
•The following sentences are etched into her headstone: "Loving mother to her son Dutch. There was grace in her steps, love in every gesture."
