Visit Greensboro Alabama! In 1816, the first pioneers built up a small village to which they initially gave the name of Troy. In these early times, the country was an unbroken forest where game was plentiful. The settlers went industriously to erect houses and clear the ground for crops.
Visitors can explore several levels of Alabama history in the state's capitol building, which jukes between Greek revival and beaux-arts influences. The free, self-guided tour is quietly educational, if a little underwhelming.
PORCHES & PARLORS. Tour begins at the Hale County Library and features the following sites with the $20 regular ticket. Tickets are $20 per adult ($5 for children 12 and under) Hale County Library. Magnolia Grove House Museum. Noel-Ramsey House Museum (Refreshements offered for all ticket holders)
