  2. Tours of the Capitol are offered Monday through Saturday. Groups must schedule their visits in advance and enter the building through the rear entrance at all times. Individuals must also enter and exit from the rear if visiting on Saturdays.

  3. Visit Greensboro Alabama! In 1816, the first pioneers built up a small village to which they initially gave the name of Troy. In these early times, the country was an unbroken forest where game was plentiful. The settlers went industriously to erect houses and clear the ground for crops.

  4. Visitors can explore several levels of Alabama history in the state's capitol building, which jukes between Greek revival and beaux-arts influences. The free, self-guided tour is quietly educational, if a little underwhelming.
