  4. I couldn't agree more. As an avid horror fan of over 5 decades, I think Gothika is an exceptional horror-thriller. I've read numerous negative reviews and I disagree with them all. The acting was exceptional, Berry gives one of her best performances, 2nd only to Monster's Ball, and Penelope Cruz is mesmerizing as the tragic mental patient.
