Goodbye, Franziska (German: Auf Wiedersehn, Franziska!) is a 1941 German romance film directed by Helmut Käutner and starring Marianne Hoppe, Hans Söhnker and Fritz Odemar. [1] It portrays the relationship between a globetrotting reporter and his devoted wife. The film was remade in 1957.
Goodbye, Franziska. Auf Wiedersehn Franziska (Original Title) Michael and Franziska's relationship suffers from the separations brought on by his photojournalism. Only after Michael's colleague lay dying in his arms does he decide to go home, but is asked by Franziska to join the war: as a soldier.
The relationship between Franziska and her partner Michael, a globetrotting photojournalist, remains strained due to their constant separation, until tragedy strikes, forcing Michael to come home and to make a decision about their future.
