Gone Like The Cotton. BUY OR LISTEN. Alison Krauss brought The Cox Family to the attention of Rounder Records in the late 1980s, where they released a string of critically acclaimed and commercially successful projects for the label, including 1994’s Grammy-winning I Know Who Holds Tomorrow (a collaboration with Krauss).
They may also be heard on the Traveller (1997) motion picture soundtrack with their renditions of the Carter Family 's "I'm Thinking Tonight of My Blue Eyes" and "Sweeter Than the Flowers". In 2015, they released Gone Like the Cotton, their first album for nearly 20 years.
Throughout the 1990s, the Coxes (father Willard, daughters Evelyn and Suzanne and son Sidney) from Cotton Valley, La. were among the hottest acts in bluegrass and the emerging country-based genre now known as Americana.
