Gods and Monsters is an exploration achievement earned for interacting with the lore objects on the Isle of Thunder the tale of the mogu's origins.
Upon interaction with the fourth lore object, adventurers will immediately gain 2000 reputation with the Lorewalkers, and Lorewalker Cho sends a letter via the in-game mail system:

Is it true you have discovered the origins of the mogu? You must come and join us at the Seat of Knowledge and share with us this wisdom you have learned.

•Hotfix (2016-08-16): The item Gods and Monsters has been restored to its proper function, and will now be sent to players who complete the Gods and Monsters Achievement, allowing them to start the quest “ [Gods and Monsters]”.
•Patch 5.2.0 (2013-03-05): Added.
Upon completion of the [Gods and Monsters] Pandaria exploration achievement, Lorewalker Cho sends a letter via the in-game mail system. The letter has an item attached that starts this quest. see the achievement for more details. Lorewalker Cho says: Fathers and sons. Mothers and daughters. As parents, we pass our legacy to our children.
You can also use it to keep track of your completed quests, recipes, mounts, companion pets, and titles! Gods and Monsters is a quest item. It is an achievement reward. In the Items category. Added in World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. Always up to date.
