- The Batman. DC fans lost their collective Bat-droppings as Robert Pattinson proclaimed "I am vengeance" while beating a Gotham thug mercilessly into the pavement.
- Dune. As one of the most hotly anticipated films of 2020 (now 2021, following a COVID delay), the first Dune trailer was a very big deal indeed. Fortunately, this initial look at Denis Villeneueve's big budget adaptation does not disappoint, delivering a suitably epic introduction that leaves fans of Frank Herbert's classic novel and complete Dune newcomers equally agog.
- I'm Thinking Of Ending Things. As one might expect from Charlie Kaufman, the I'm Thinking of Ending Things trailer is a twisting journey that leaves its audience helplessly intrigued as to what the full movie might have in store.
- Mank. From the opening old-school Motion Picture Association certificate, Mank's trailer promises something special. Complimenting David Fincher's black and white color scheme, the Mank trailer utilizes era-specific transitions and golden age Hollywood-style credits to generate a feeling of showbiz glamour, before turning on a dime to unveil the darker side of this Herman J. Mankiewicz biopic.

- Spider-Man: No Way Home. No trailer in 2021 came as hotly-anticipated as Spider-Man: No Way Home, and by the time Marvel finally blessed the world with official footage in August 2021, it felt like Kevin Feige was deliberately seeing how long he could avoid showing anything.
- Last Night In Soho. For a long time, no one knew anything about Edgar Wright's Last Night In Soho, other than its star-studded cast and the vague description of "psychological horror."
- Licorice Pizza. Despite a title that promises an even worse topping than pineapple, the trailer for Licorice Pizza is a perfect 1970s mini-movie that beautifully demonstrates the spirit of Paul Thomas Anderson's teen romance.
- The Matrix Resurrections (Official Trailer 1) No trailer had a harder ask this year than "The Matrix Resurrections." No trailer both disguised and sold its film more artfully than "The Matrix Resurrections."
- The Suicide Squad. There was a trend which emerged amongst 2021 trailers, one that followed a very simple formula: needle drop a well-known or obscure pop song in its original form; as the trailer builds, add epic instrumentation to said pop song; continue to build until a fever pitch is reached.
- Licorice Pizza. More than two decades into his career, it's clear that few filmmakers move from the intimate to the epic more effortlessly than Paul Thomas Anderson.
