Feb 9, 2024 · Azerbaijan's outstanding composer Gara Garayev left an indelible mark on the national music and culture. Gara Garayev's music was groundbreaking, pushing the boundaries of classical composition. February 5 marks the 106th anniversary of the birth of the prominent composer and teacher Gara Garayev.
Gara Garayev is always perceived by me not only as a composer of a great talent, but a wise intellectual of Azerbaijan Orient, musician-enlightener of today. Like Glinka, who combined the Russian song and occidental counterpoint, Garayev enriched Azerbaijan music with subtle interpretation of professional achievements of the 20th century music.
Feb 9, 2024 · Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall has hosted a spectacular concert dedicated to Azerbaijan's outstanding composer Gara Garayev. Before the start of the concert program, musicologist Aysal Karim spoke in detail about the life and work of the outstanding composer, his great contribution to musical culture, Azernews reports.

Working on them the museum staff revealed some unknown pieces created in 1920s - 1960s by the well known Azerbaijani composers, such as Niyazi, Jovdet Hajiyev, Gara Garayev, Soltan Hajibeyov, Polad Bulbuloglu, and prominent pianist Farkhad Badalbeyli. Because of different, sometimes unclear reasons some of them had not been performed yet at all, some used to be once performed half a century ago.
