Sep 6, 2022 · I ran the below command to fix it and it’s running great with the exception of my down arrow key and my delete key. The delete key just doesn’t work at all. The down arrow is acting as a toggle for the touch-pad on/off.
I want to swap the Ctrl and Caps Lock keys on my keyboard. I go to System Settings -> Keyboard -> Layout Settings -> Options and check Swap Ctrl and Caps Lock under Ctrl Key Position . I check that my keyboard ( English US) has the new key bindings.

Apparently, Scroll Lock isn't by default detected by X so you have to make it recognize and detect that key, if you are in that boat. Open a terminal. Run xmodmap -pm to check which mod keys are available.
With Fedora 17 I have a PS/2-connected keyboard. If I hold just the left CTRL key down for a period (say 5 seconds) then the whole keyboard locks up. The USB-connected mouse still works and I can navigate menus, etc. I can logout and then the keyboard works for login.
Aug 16, 2021 · If the function keys are not working, the problem may be you have a function lock or F-Lock key that needs to be toggled. The F-Lock key is used to turn on or off the F keys ( F1 through F12 ) or secondary functions of the F keys.
