AR and AP jobs are only "dead ends" in that 1) they often do not require any post-secondary degree or education to obtain and 2) they often do not come with companies that offer upward mobility. My experience is evidence for these 2 facts.
For me it has taken quite a bit of dead end jobs after another. But it can help to set a schedule for yourself that I'll do this job for e.g. 4 months max and then at the latest look for something else.
