I've been really impressed with esalon. The kit is brilliant they have thought of everything. I had a slight issue that for some reason the dye lightened my roots (I have extremely dark brown hair) although the rest of the colour was gorgeous. I emailed them and straight away they sent me a dye just for my roots.

Big nope. Ordered ash blonde specifically noting my hair pulled red. My result was orange roots with a distinct red tint to the rest of my hair. To their credit, they did send a replacement however they sent medium blonde instead of ash blonde and half the color had leaked out of the bottle.
My recent order seemed like a new formula. eSalon is always an excellent color treatment, however, the very strong ammonia-like smell is overwhelming at times. Especially when one should fill the bottle of unused formula, distribute throughout the hair and wait 5 minutes.

I was the only customer in the store for the 45 minutes I was there, and went in with hair length past my shoulder blades. I asked for a 4-inch trim with long layers. When I left the salon my hair was at shoulder length (that's 8 inches cut off), but that's not the worst of it.
