A month has passed, and the town continues hunting for the missing Astraeus crew after the DOD calls off the search. Meanwhile, in the simulation, the crew comes face to face with a dragon. When one of the crew realizes the truth of their circumstances it ends in tragedy.
As in the previous episode, we have found out that the Astraeus Crew is in a Virtual Reality Simulator (VRS) being controlled by The Consortium. One Giant Leap, Lost, and The Real Thing are so very good, and after an uneven season 4, it's wonderful to have Eureka back on top of its game. All the best of Eureka has been combined with an apparent increased CG budget and the result is terrific sci-fi, very funny, and emotional to boot.
Eureka seems like any other cozy, Pacific Northwest town, but is actually a secret community of geniuses assembled by the government to conduct top-secret research. What they’ve unwittingly created is a place where anything imaginable can happen … and does.
