It has music by Roger Anderson, lyrics by Lee Goldsmith and a book by Ernest Kinoy. The musical is based on the early life of Charlie Chaplin's journey from English music halls to Hollywood.

Nov 10, 2014 · Ernest Kinoy was a writer who worked in radio, television, theater and film for more than 50 years. He received several awards for his work, including two Emmy Awards. Born in New York City in 1925, Kinoy served in the Army during World War II. While fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, he was taken prisoner and held captive in a German labor camp.
