Brembo S.p.A. nasce l'11 gennaio 1961 a Sombreno, una frazione di Paladina, a pochi chilometri da Bergamo [2], come piccola officina a carattere familiare. Inizialmente il nome era OMdS (Officine Meccaniche di Sombreno) di Emilio Bombassei e Italo Breda.
Brembo was founded in 1961 just a few kilometers outside Bergamo by Emilio, Sergio and Alberto Bombassei and Italo Breda. Brembo was established in Paladina, Italy, on January 11, 1961, by Emilio Bombassei and Italo Breda (father and uncle, respectively, to the current Chairman Alberto Bombassei). [3][4] The company was named after the Brembo river. Bombassei lived in a village on the coast of the river before moving to Milan.
