Aug 17, 2023 · This past fall, I spoke remotely with Austrian/German directors Elsa Kremser and Levin Peter about their work on the beautifully elliptical documentary Space Dogs (which I also reviewed). The movie tells two stories in parallel, that of the Soviet space program in its early days and of the life of street dogs in Moscow today.

Space Dogs has just premiered in the Concorso Cineasti del presente section of the 72nd Locarno Film Festival.
