Elizabeth Jane Howard. (1923-2014), Novelist. Sitter in 18 portraits. Howard began her writing career with The Beautiful Visit in 1950 and was awarded the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize for her first novel. Shortly afterwards, she collaborated with the writer Robert Aickman on the collection of short stories We Are for the Dark in 1951.
