Jun 24, 2015 · Immersive Engineering is a tech mod with a certain charm, based on the ideas and concepts, and with most assets created by Damien Hazard. Overall, it's about realism-inspired technology: Instead of glowing red tubes, it offers actual, hanging powerlines.

- A Few Nifty Things
The Engineer's Manual is one of the most useful items in Immersive Engineering. It is an in-game guide to the mod, and contains information on all of the crazy blocks and items Immersive Engineering adds. In fact, it's almostas good as this guide. You'll also want an Engineer's Hammer. This handy tool can be used for a lot of things.
Getting hot
1. Main articles: Crude Blast Furnace, Improved Blast Furnace, and Coke Oven (Immersive Engineering) What's the best way to get hot? By making a Crude Blast Furnace and a Coke Oven of course! The Crude Blast Furnace is used to make Steel, which you'll want a ton of. It also makes Slag, although that isn't as useful. The Coke Oven makes Coal Coke and Creosote Oil. Coal Coke is pretty useful, but Creosote Oil is actually required to progress; you'll need Treated Woodfor a lot of things. You can...
A revolution!
1. Main article: Redstone Flux Electricity! Well, sort of electricity. Immersive Engineering in the past has used Redstone Flux(RF), one of the most popular energy frameworks. Currently, Immersive Engineering uses something else called "Immersive Flux" (IF). But have no fear: Immersive Flux and Redstone Flux act exactly the same and can be converted 1:1 without needing to convert between the two. Redstone Flux is supposedly magical, but in Immersive Engineering it acts a bit like electricity....
Using energy
1. Main article: External Heater Rhetorical question: what's the point of making, storing and transmitting energy without using it for anything? Well, there's pretty much no point whatsoever. If you set up an energy system to create, store and transmit energy, but don't actually useit, then maybe you should talk to someone. Immersive Engineering, fortunately, gives you plenty to do with your energy. The most basic example of this is the External Heater. It, unlike most similar mods, is not an...
Item Transportation
1. Main article: Conveyor Belt (Immersive Engineering) 2. See also: Dropping Conveyor Belt Many mods rely on automation: BuildCraft, IndustrialCraft, Thermal Expansion... the list goes on. Immersive Engineering, believe it or not, is also part of this bandwagon. Immersive Engineering adds a very simple form of item transportation: Conveyor Belts. Conveyor Belts are simple: they move items on them in the direction the belt faces. They're pretty cheap, too. They even can automatically pull item...
Liquid Transportation
Liquids can be transported, too! Liquid transportation is a bit more complicated, though. You'll need Fluid Pipes and probably a Fluid Pump (Immersive Engineering). Liquids will automatically move through Fluid Pipes, although at a slow rate (10 m/s). Using a Fluid Pump will speed it up dramatically (50 m/s).
What good is a mod if you can't do anything cool with it? Here are a few fun features of Immersive Engineering.
I include Thermal Foundation (ores and items and stuff) but don't include Thermal Expansion with its machines. I include parts of Ender IO, but I've disabled most of the machines (e.g. the SAG Mill) and provide mostly auxiliary machines like the obelisks and powered spawner.
Wires, transformers, high voltage! Bzzzzt! Contribute to BluSunrize/ImmersiveEngineering development by creating an account on GitHub.
Rockhounding Chemistry's dev has just updated their library and base mods to 1.12, so it's worth keeping an eye on to see if it gets a version bump soon =) it seems like it'd go really well with immersive petroleum+engineering, given some tweaking.

Do Create and Immersive Engineering work well together? Discussion. Not really a technical question, but rather gameplaywise. When trying to make my own modpack, I had to decide which of these two technology mods add, or if I could ultimately add both and save me from having to chose one of them.
