Feb 11, 2016 · I have Windows 10 Pro installed from scratch and I've tried to install Movie Maker but I keep getting the error 0x80040800.
- Disable incompatible video filter. This Windows Movie Maker error message will pop up if an incompatible video filter has been installed on your computer.
- Change the compatibility in the properties. The Windows Movie Maker not working issues on Windows 11/10 can be caused by improper properties. Try to fix it by changing the compatibility in the Properties.
- Update the graphics card driver. When Windows Movie Maker won't open, you may see an error message saying "Sorry, Movie Maker can't start. Make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements before trying to start Movie Maker again, and then try to update the driver for your video card if Movie Maker still doesn't start."
