Featuring a collection of the Midwest's most dynamic and critically acclaimed musicians, Hoodoo Soul Band is a live music side project that has become a Columbus, Ohio institution. Known for a 25 year long weekly residency at Rumba Cafe, Hoodoo Sunday nights are the only place to be.
Hoodoo Soul Band has been playing every Sunday night for the last 27 years holding down one of the longest running residencies in the Midwest. Rumba Cafe has a modest cover at the door that grants attendee's access to one of the most unique scenes around and the room is full every week.
Hoodoo Soul has been direct support for world-class acts passing through Columbus such as Parliament and Ray Charles among many others. But, it's the regular Sunday night residency that is the heartbeat of the band.

Jun 14, 2021 · Hoodoo Soul Band, now including Dave DeWitt (who was not performing due to the covid pandemic) began as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play Funk and Rhythm and Blues with a horn section.

The Hoo Doo Soul Band started as a side project for several seasoned veterans of the Columbus music scene who wanted an outlet to play funk and rhythm and blues. In January 1995 they started a weekly Sunday night gig at Oldfield’s on High.
