Mar 2, 2002 · After establishing a reputation as a superb editor, he left the CBC in 1962 and travelled briefly to England and Spain. It was during this time that he met Vancouver-based producer and director Allan King, who was in the United Kingdom doing freelance work for the British Broadcasting Corporation.
