There is quite a large secured car park by the side of the hotel with barriers at both entrance and exit, the cost of which was £5 per night. We found it quite useful as left the car there all the time and walked into the city centre.
But I suppose it's fair that the many public transport guests are not subsidising free parking. As kenb69 says, you can park free on the road outside. If you park on the opposite side of that road, and are in an upper floor north facing room, you would be able still to keep an eye on your car.

We turned up to the hotel, the car park is operated by barrier and is a pay car park, however only £5.00 for 24hrs. As soon as you pull up it just feels really lovely, the reception area is lovely and was manned with some very helpful and cheerful staff.
