Dec 8, 2020 · While the latter obviously makes you stronger, so does Dexterity depending on the weapon you are using. Certain weapons scale to Strength and others scale to Dexterity. Crushing weapons, like the Crushing Battle Axe, grow stronger as the strength stat increases.

Dec 27, 2022 · When playing through Demon's Souls for the first time, the Pure Strength build is what we recommend the most. If you focus on increasing your Vitality, Strength, and Endurance and wield a weapon with both hands, your attack power will be considerably boosted.

You're hitting the damage breakpoint at 34 Strength when 2 handing, so you can pump your health and stamina earlier in your build than a DEX build can. You can stop at 50 Strength for the breakpoint or to max out your damage you can hit 66 Strength and 2 hand weapons to effectively have 99 strength.
Many find the Claymore easier to use because it’s faster. Get strength to 34 when you can and use the claymore two handed. You’ll hit the strength scaling softcap of 50 because of the 1.5x two hand bonus: 1.5 x 34 = 50.
