Leucojum aestivum is a lovely snowflake, bearing dark green leaves and wide white flowers with green markings. Grow Leucojum aestivum in moist soil in sun to partial shade. Allow to self seed naturally and let the foliage die down full after flowering.

How to grow Cultivation. Plant dry bulbs, 8 to 10cm deep, in autumn, in any moderately fertile, humus-rich, reliably moist soil in full sun. Propagation. Propagate by seed, sown in autumn, in containers in a cold frame or separate offsets after the leaves have died down.
Sun and Shade: Leucojum will grow and bloom in sun or partial shade. Hardiness Zone: The bulbs are winter hardy in growing zones 4-8. Soil Conditions: Leucojum is not fussy about soil conditions and will tolerate acidic, neutral or alkaline soils.
Planting and Growing Leucojum. Plant dormant bulbs of L. autumnale in late summer. Plant other varieties in early autumn. Plant around 4in (10cm) deep, in any moderately fertile, humus-rich soil. L. autumnale needs sunny, sheltered position. Others varieties grow best in partial shade.
Leucojum (Snowflake) Perhaps almost as useful as Narcissus are snowflakes. Leucojum aestivum, although called ‘Summer Snowflake’, flowers in mid – late spring and then goes dormant during summer.
