Order plants in March from mail-order suppliers. Bulbs will be delivered bearing roots and leafy shoots.

Leucojum, also known as snowflakes, are much loved for their pendant bell-shaped flowers. They are very hardy and need plenty of moisture so plant in full sun or semi-shade in a site which does not dry out excessively in the summer.
Water as needed during active growth periods, supplying about 1” of moisture per week. Leave the foliage in place after blooming has finished for the season. The leaves will gather sunlight to create food through photosynthesis, strengthening the plant for the future.

Grow Leucojum in any moist, humus-rich but well-drained soil. Small species such as Leucojum autumnale can be planted in a rock garden or bulb frame. Large species such as Leucojum aestivum are excellent in a border or near water or naturalized in grass or a meadow.
