I hated Sam up until the full flashback episode. She did get out of pocket there, but up until then she was a cardboard cut out of the "ideal woman." When she started showing flaws and a "divergent" ideology I was all for it and the way she switched up in the finale felt deeply fulfilling.

Nov 5, 2019 · At the end of the season one finale when Sam took the throne and cemented herself as the new leader of “The Jocks” we were all a little shocked, mostly because this sets up season two where Sam isn’t just evil, but she is Josh’s enemy. But here’s why that might not be the case.
It almost felt like Sam was meant to be a villain in the next season. Josh was a bit of a tool the whole show and Sam as worse. Her character does not seem real at all comparing to other teen character. Episode 8 was cringe fest of social issue spouted on the slightest question of sexual past.
