New York University School of Law offers a number of dual degree programs with other graduate schools at the University. This unique opportunity enables students to complete a JD and earn a Master’s degree in four years, or complete the JD in five semesters while pursuing a PhD.
Dual-degree students may count a total of 12 non-law credits toward their law degree, and the policies for registration may be different. These students must file the dual-degree registration form with the Office of Academic Services.

The Law School makes available to JD students from both NYU School of Law and other accredited American law schools the opportunity to obtain the JD and LLM degrees in a total of seven semesters of full-time study. The JD-LLM in Taxation takes only seven semesters to complete (instead of eight).
The Law School also offers joint degrees with the Taxation graduate program and International Law. The Law School also has partnerships with the University of Melbourne and the University of Singapore that allows for dual degrees to be received from both institutions.
