This month the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland – the largest of its type in the UK – has exceeded the milestone of awarding £150 million in funding to local charities and community groups in the region.
Eligible organisations can receive a Greggs Foundation Community Grant of £20,000 per year, for up to two years. Core funding. As a grant-giving organisation, we understand the difficulties many charitable organisations face in accessing grant funding to meet fixed costs.
UK Community Foundations is a membership organisation with a network of 47 accredited community foundations across the UK and 3 international accredited community foundations. Please note that, while we work with partners to distribute funding across our network, UKCF does not directly award grants to applicant organisations.
A community foundation works by welcoming donations in a multitude of ways from individuals or businesses in the local area. It then provides funding and support to other charitable organisations or individuals in need of financial support for a variety of causes.
You can support our Vital Funds for Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead, South Tyneside or Sunderland. Giving to one our collective Vital Funds gives us the greatest flexibility to respond to needs across our area.
