May 16, 2020 · Only way I've found to fix this is to note how far through it is then close and reopen the video file & reposition where it was. Windows Media Player doesn't show this problem, so I now tend to go back and use that instead. Of course, every now and then a Windows [major] Update reverts my default choice back to "Films & TV" app (mutter mutter).
