Aug 1, 2024 · Though few details are known about the planned follow-up, the back-to-back production schedule suggests that part 2 will be a direct continuation of the events of 28 Years Later. A third film is also planned, but its fate remains uncertain. Producer Andrew Macdonald spoke candidly about the production process, saying:

28 Years Later is an upcoming post-apocalyptic horror film directed by Danny Boyle, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alex Garland. It is a sequel to 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later (2007), and the third installment overall in the 28 Days Later film series.
