   • Here's a bit of history for you; Season 3 started with some characters stuck in cages - this represented the writers and their feelings of being forced to write this show to a set schedule and time limit (Lindelof said this in an interview long after LOST ended). This was also a time when the ratings of the show began to plummet.

   Is season 3 a bad season?

   • About a third of the way into season 3 the showrunners and ABC executives came to an agreement that lost would have a final three seasons of 16 episodes each. Season 3 is the worst season in my opinion, but it gets so, so much better towards the end. And then the show drastically changes from then on. Here's a bit of history for you;
