    Special Collections

    1. The library houses multiple special collections, which are collections that focus on a particular topic or historic significance. See our Special Collections pageto learn more about the Civil War, Milwaukee-Downer, Kruse, and Wisconsin Collections, as well as the rooms in which they are held.

    Reference Collection

    1. Our reference collection (located on the first floor) includes general and subject-specific encyclopedias, indexes, dictionaries, and more. We also provide access to a range of electronic reference sources. See the Reference tab of our Electronic Resources guidefor a list.

    The Mudd Library is part of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) to collect, preserve, and make available publications created by the U.S. government.
    We are also a Selective Depository Library through the Wisconsin Document Depository Program, which means we receive a portion of the thousands of documents published by Wisconsin state agencies.

    Federal Documents can be found on Level A of the Mudd Library and Wisconsin Documents can be found on the 4th floor.
