At the start of the fight, Jotaro goads Dio into a test of strength between their Stands, and this moment is perhaps the most important of all. The two Stands are basically evenly matched in terms of physical ability, with Dio's The World edging Jotaro's Star Platinum slightly because of Dio's vampirestat boosts. However, this result does more than...
From blatantly approaching him in spite of the knowledge of his time stop to deliberately blurting out that he and Dio's Stands are the same, from start to finish Jotaro owns real estate in Dio's head. Dio's descent into paranoia is a gradual one though, the result of an accumulation of small defeats at the hands of Jotaro. For instance, Jotaro's p...

Jotaro didn't punch DIO in the leg, he punched DIO's soul in the leg. DIO's body had vampire healing, but DIO's soul didn't have vampire healing. Dec 22, 2018 · If dio didn't kill all his friends, he would of been on the winning side for a few reasons. The first reason is due to DIO having vampiric strength. The second is that DIO had the road roller, and the road roller was still on the ground.
However, DIO has outsmarted Jotaro: he's manipulated Jotaro into sending him to his "escape route"; back to where Joseph's body was, and the old man's blood allows him to not only fully recover, but also completely synch his body with that of Jonathan Joestar.
Also, if the fact that Pucci dies by Emporio's hand is omitted, he could have somehow survived, and also exists in the following universes, and may also have never had any contact with Dio or the Joestars, which would explain Jotaro's free time (you haven't though of that, did ya?).
