   Site Code: 000268. Situated on the west coast of Ireland, this site comprises the inner, shallow part of a large bay which is partially sheltered by the Aran Islands. The Burren karstic limestone fringes the southern sides and extends into the sublittoral. West of Galway city the bedrock geology is granite.

   • This part of the Galway Bay shoreline is quite urbanised. A caravan park and camping site and a golf course is located adjacent to the east site in Knocknacarragh.    Where is Galway Bay?
