Before playing Feed The Beast, you should do the following: 1. Purchase Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC from the Microsoft Store. It is included with PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. 2. Install Minecraft: Java Edition and launch it at least once to verify it runs successfully on your computer.
Once you have Minecraft: Java Edition successfully running on its own you are ready to install the FTB App. 1. Download the app from here. 2. Run the app. 3. Configure the installation folder and desktop shortcuts. 4. Create a profile using your Microsoft account.
There are many FTB modpacks, as listed here. The FTB App can also be used to install CurseForge modpacks as well.
CurseForge doesn't have a working Linux version for Minecraft. FTB does and should be able to download full modpacks hosted on CurseForge too. It's also worth noting that CurseForge modpack files do not include the mods for the pack, but rather a manifest file for the downloading app to read.

No, Gdlauncher will just be partnered with Overwolf so the launcher will be still owned and developed by GorillaDevs (meaning no overwolf bloatware) but will receive funding and proper support for curseforge mods that have opted out of thirds party launchers.
