Mar 12, 2020 · If you are an existing Chrome user, you have two options: install the Ecosia extension or update to the latest version of Chrome and switch your default search engine to Ecosia. The full rollout will happen on Tuesday March 17th* .
Nov 8, 2023 · With the latest Chrome update, Ecosia may no longer appear when you open a new tab. This came as a surprise to us. (Welcome to the life of an alternative search engine.) We're working on fixing it, but in the meantime, you can continue using Ecosia as usual through the main address bar and your tree count won't be affected. (Yay!)
