dlc doesn't mess with base game, it's just added content that is completely optional and it won't replace any biomes, just adds alternate paths to take and throws in tons of weapons. dlc is absolutely worth it if you like the game!
Definitely explore the base game first. The DLC doesn’t really change the concept of how to play the game, but instead adds new areas, weapons, enemies, and bosses. Play through the game a couple times, and if then, you still like it, then maybe buy a DLC and go from there
Try the game out for a wee bit, see how you like it and if you do, I’d highly recommend the DLC’s as they add a lot to the base game that can improve your enjoyment immensely. However this is nothing wrong with just the base game!
The most critically important piece of advice I can give anyone playing Dead Cells is to avoid taking damage. There are many elements of the game designed to teach the player precisely this such as cursed chests, no-hit kill streak doors, malaise in 4/5bc, the entirety of the tactics stat, etc.
