  1. Feb 23, 2024 · Published: February 23, 2024. The Disney College Program is a one-of-a-kind internship for college students and recent graduates. It’s a fun way to get immersed in the enchantment and fun of Disney while gaining valuable job experience, making lifelong connections — and getting paid, too! Participants on the Disney College Program work hard ...

    • For starters, the Disney College Program is an internship, not a regular job. It’s not perfect by any means, but I think a lot of the issues at least people I’ve talked to have had with it have been things that are pretty typical of what being an intern is like.
    • It’s the Disney College Program but you don’t need to be in college when you do it. Even though I was accepted into the DCP while I was in college, I had to turn down the offer because I would have lost my scholarship, so as a result I ended up doing it after I graduated.
    • It’s not a vacation. I know no one flat out says they think this is going to be a vacation, but it’s definitely a mentality that sticks in the back of some CPs’ minds, and if that’s at all how you’re feeling about it the DCP probably isn’t for you.
    • You don’t need to take your car. You certainly can if you want to, and it’s no secret that having your car on your program will be much more convenient but if it’s going to be an added expense you aren’t sure you’ll be able to manage during an internship you can always leave it at home.
  2. Talk to your advisor about credit options for your participation in the program. Students usually earn college credit during the Disney College Program in one of two ways: Many departments within a college or university have internship courses that allow you to earn credit for internship experiences. Although they often require you to be a ...

Knowing that it was hard work wasn’t necessarily news to me, but it was news to a lot of the people I went into the program with. For one of my jobs, I worked at the Boardwalk Bakery (now Boardwalk Deli) and I often worked the late night shifts and then turned around and did the opening shifts as well. I was exhausted frequently, but I truly loved ...

Now I say this with a grain of salt because I loved my jobs! I had roommates who worked custodial and loved their jobs as well. However, a lot of participants have hopes and dreams of being characters. Now don’t get me wrong, it is a possibility! They even brought back character auditions for participants in January 2023 but for a majority of colle...

I was lucky enough to have amazing roommates during my time in the college program! They are still some of my best friends and they made my experience even better. However, I was one of the lucky ones. I know people who left the program because of their housing situation! Roommates are hard no matter where you are, so if this is your first experien...

The DCP forced me to grow up in ways I didn’t even realize I needed to. I was a sophomore in college when I attended the program, but it was my first time being more than just a few hours from home and people I knew. I had to grow in my confidence, my money and time management skills, and even my professional skills. It was a long period of learning...

As we discussed before, you probably won’t have the role you’ve been dreaming of your entire life. I think though, that no matter what role you work in, the job is what you make it! Just like any job in the world, there are positives and negatives to every role in the DCP. However, if you come in with a good attitude and you’re prepared to make the...

My favorite thing about the DCP is now, even years later, I still think of it as one of the best periods of my life. I enjoyed my jobs, I had amazing roommates, and I went to Disney World every day! It was easy to tell myself I was too tired to take advantage of my free time, but I’m so glad I did. I only had 8 months of working for the Mouse while...

  4. 4 days ago · Why she chose the Disney College Program: “I decided to go back to school to get my master’s degree after being in the professional world for almost 15 years. Doing the Disney College Program after I graduated allowed me to learn Disney’s culture, learn the lines of business and determine where my skills best aligned and how I could support with the experience I had.”
