You know those games where the hack is just made difficult because the creator wants you to grind just so you spend more time on his game? Yeah, awful. Hacks can be difficult without the need for incessant grinding - this is done through thoughtful opponent team design.
I don't mind Fakemon. Because a lot of them are comically bad like in Pokemon Quartz that it's enjoyable for that reason. Sometimes Fakemon can be really good like in Vega. Some of them feel like actual Pokemon.
TL;DR: There are hacks for everything and I like how recent ones added difficulty levels, but I do hate when a hack slaps some busted mon at high level to make you grind instead of working gradually with IVs and EVs so it's the right amount of challenging.
