Synopsis. In 1858, several male slaves are chained and being transported after being purchased by the Speck Brothers, Ace (James Remar) and Dicky (James Russo). Among the slaves is Django (Jamie Foxx), who has been sold away from his wife, Broomhilda (Kerry Washington).
The story follows a slave who trains under a German bounty hunter with the ultimate goal of reuniting with his wife. Development of Django Unchained began in 2007 when Tarantino was writing a book on Corbucci. By April 2011, Tarantino sent his final draft of the script to The Weinstein Company (TWC).
Django Unchained ‘s story is broken into three acts: Django’s Revenge, Schultz’s Journey, and Django’s Journey. Once again, these breaks in the story are caused by the contrasting tones of the film. The first act ends when Django kills the three brothers, and Schultz’s act begins when they first meet Candie.
